Here are the most frequently asked questions about our facility, amenities, distance etc.  Please reach us at smitapark@gmail.com if you do not see an answer to a question you may have.

 

How far are you located from RIMYI?

Distance between Smitapark's Rutika Apartments and RIMYI is 0.34 miles (approx. 7 min walking distance). 'Rutika Apartments' building is located opposite the 'Model Colony Post office'. Walking/Driving Directions from Rutika to RIMYI.

 

Is this a hotel?

No. our facility is not a commercial operation. Rutica Apartments is a residential building.

 

Why do you take non-refundable deposit?

Students book rooms months, at times years in advance. It is very hard for us to rent out the rooms if the booking is cancelled. To be fair, if a student must cancel the reservation, we offer to apply the same deposit to future booking made with us by the same individual within two years (subject to availability). We request the guests to make fresh booking with new deposit after two years.

 

Can I rent individual room(s)?

Yes absolutely. You will find all the details in General Information and/or Booking Information sections of this website.

 

Can I ask for all male or all female apartment mates?

We book on first come first serve basis. We cannot guarantee that your apartment mates will be all male or female.

 

Do you have internet?

We provide FREE 24 hour wi-fi in all of our rooms. You need to bring your wi-fi ready device.

What is the voltage range for electrical/electronic accessories? What is the plug type?

In India electronic/electrical accessories operate on 230V/240V. If you are bringing your phone or laptop, most chargers have built-in universal voltage adaptability from 110V-240V. However check the manuals of other small appliances like hairdryer, shaver for voltage adaptability if you plan to carry them.Electrical plugs have two round pins. You may carry universal plug adapter or purchase one locally for nominal cost. Surge protector is highly advisable to avoid damage to your electrical/electronic devices due to current fluction and/or power outage.

 

Does the building have an elevator?

No the building does NOT have an elevator.

 

Are the rooms air conditioned? Do the wondows have nets?

No. Rooms are not air conditioned. There are ceiling fans in all rooms. Yes, the wondows have nets fixed.

 

Do you have phone in the room?

No there is no phone in the room. We highly recommend that you bring your own cell phone and purchase a SIM card locally. FYI - You need to submit a copy of photo ID and a proof of residency to obtain a SIM card. In addition there is a public phone booth located right outside Rutica Apts. for local and International calling at very reasonable cost.

 

What are the options if I do not wish to cook?

There are several restaurants nearby.

 

Is maid service included in the rent?

Yes. Once a day room & kitchen cleaning service is included in the monthly rent (Maid service is available six days a week).

 

Is there washing machine in the apartment?

There is a self operated (or maid operated) washing machine in the apartment on the fourth floor. 

 

Am I expected to pay or tip the maid/housekeeper?

Our maid/housekeeper is Smitapark's paid employee. Tipping is entirely up to the client's discretion. If you are satisfied with maid/housekeeping services, you tip the maid/housekeeper directly at the end of your stay. General tipping guideline - ₹300 per customer.

 

How are the bathrooms?All bathrooms have Western/European style fixtures.

If I arrive couple days earlier or decide to stay over for couple of days, do you rent rooms on daily basis?

We try to accommodate such requests on case to case basis when we can, however most of the times it is not possible due to back to back bookings. It is NOT the usual policy to rent rooms on daily basis.

 

What are your Check-in and Check-out times?

Check-in is 8:00 am and Check-out is 3:00 pm.

 

Do you pro-rate the monthly rent if I stay less than a month?We do not pro-rate the monthly rent.

All rentals are based on monthly rental, from first to the last day of the month. We charge full month's rent for partial stays.

 

Can I have someone else stay in my room if I am checking out earlier than the end of the month?

Bookings are strictly non-transferable. Person(s) other than on the original contract are prohibited to stay in the room.Can I invite a friend for a sleep over?Person(s) other than on the original contract are prohibited to stay in the room.
